What do the categories mean?

Score of 0: Non-problem gambler.

  • You can gamble with no negative consequences.

Score of 1 – 2: Low-risk gambler.

  • You experience a low level of problems, with few or no identified negative consequences. For example, you might occasionally spend over your limit or feel guilty about gambling.

Score of 3 – 7: Moderate-risk gambler.

  • You experience a moderate level of problems leading to some negative consequences. For example, you sometimes spend more than you can afford, lose track of time or feel guilty about gambling.

Score of 8 or higher: Problem gambler

  • You gamble with negative consequences and a possible loss of control. For example, you often spend over their limit, gamble to win back money you’ve lost and feel stressed about gambling.

If your score is 5 and above, you may be experiencing problems with your gambling and we recommend that you consider applying limits to your account(s) or self-excluding. Reality Check

The Reality Check is a feature that allows you to set a reminder informing you of the time you’ve spent playing on the site. Upon launching the first gaming session, you’ll be prompted with a notification to set a Reality Check interval of 15 minutes, 30 minutes, 60 minutes, or none at all.

The Reality Check timer will start once you launch your first gaming session, and remains until you end. When you reach your selected time period, a notification message will pop up on your screen with a summary of the time spent playing and your wins and losses during that period.

Financial limits

Financial limits may be reduced immediately at any time. Any request to increase or remove a limit is subject to a 24-hour ‘cooling off’ period, during which time the original limit will remain active.

Time-out

If you want to take a break, you can use the time-out facility. It’s available here after you’ve logged in, or by contacting our Customer Support team.

You can request a time-out period of 24 hours, 7 days or 30 days. Your account will automatically become accessible once the time-out period ends.

Self-exclusion

If online gambling becomes something other than fun and entertainment, you can always opt to self-exclude. This will allow you to take a break from gambling during your chosen period. All online accounts that you hold with Silvereye Entertainment Limited will be subject to your self-exclusion request automatically. What to expect

  • No cost: All services are completely free.
  • No judgement: Oasis is a welcoming, warm and professional service. You’ll be able to talk to someone you trust about your gambling concerns, without being judged.
  • Guidance: Your first contact with Oasis can be a short phone call, text or email to get more information. Or you can opt for a longer 60–75-minute counselling session. The counsellor will guide the first appointment, manage the time, and balance the information-gathering part of the session with hearing your story. You’re welcome to bring a support person with you.
  • Help: You’ll be asked questions about who you are and how gambling has affected you and your relationships. This will allow you to reflect on the impact gambling has on your life and that of your close whānau.
  • Tailored support: Oasis counsellors will work with you to develop a plan that meets your unique physical, mental, spiritual and whānau health needs. We use a variety of therapies to help people move forward.
  • Confidentiality: Information about your attendance or progress will never be shared with a third party (including family) without your written consent and knowledge.
